Sports Girls' Basketball Teams will put Benton County girls in the fight for First

The girls' basketball teams in both Vinton-Shellsburg and Benton Community have been in a nail-biting competitions all season.   Vinton Shellsburg girls' team beat Grinnell at Grinnell by nine points in a final score of 52-43. Not being left out, Benton Community girls took West Liberty in a 53-44 on their own court in Van Horne.

The  Well Fargo Arena in Des Moines will be the next chance for the 3A class, to show their best games. The next match-up for Vinton Shellsburg (17-7) and #8 seed will be Estherville Lincoln Center (24-0) #1 seed on Monday, February 27, 5:00 p.m.

Following this game, Benton Community (21-3) #4 seed, will take the court and face Des Moines Christian (21-3) #5 seed on at 6:45 p.m.
