To those in Vinton, we know there's a lot of talent when it comes to dirt racing. Vinton is the home to IMCA which is a large national organization that in the case of the Fisher family, they race under.
For Joren Fisher, racing runs deep as a fourth-generation racer on both sides of the family. The youngest in the Fisher family, Colten, will be jumping into a Hobby Stock race next season when he turns 14. Mandy, his mom even took her turn behind the wheel. She said of dirt track racing, "It's definitely something that gets in your blood and the Racing community becomes your family!"
Shawn and Mandy's oldest son Joren, is the one in the limelight this week. A racer since the age of 12, moving into IMCA Hobby Stock racing at age 14, a four-time track points champion at the Benton County Speedway, this 2023 Union High graduate, and soon-to- be Kirkwood graduate (with a Degree in Fire Science), is showing us what he can do. With a hobby that keeps the adrenalin pumping Fisher took a gamble on the weather this weekend and it paid off big time for him. At the Boone Speedway he started the season with a Feature Win. Beating out 53 hobby stocks who had signed in to race. He then took over the remaining 24 who started at the feature event, placing 1st in the race.
This season starts his 7th year in the Hobby Stock class. Updates on his racing career can be found on his Facebook page "Joren Fisher Racing"
This was made possible by everyone who backed him.
