Sports : Vikings improve to 14-3, continue to lead WaMaC West

Grant Sagan scored 22 points for Vinton-Shellsburg Friday evening, as the Vikings defeated Clear Creek-Amana, 69-46. Max Griffifth scored 19, including five 3-point shots. The Vikings built an early 22-6 first quarter lead. Max Kearns aided the Viking offense with eight points and 13 assists. Sagan led the Vikes in rebounds with 11.

The win helped the Vikes bounce back from a 73-55 loss at Williamsburg on Tuesday. This week, they travel to Independence and Solon; their last regular-season home game is Feb. 16.
