Vinton-Shellsburg freshman Lily Horst finished in 9th place in the Class 3A Girls race at the 2012 State Cross Country event in Fort Dodge on Saturday. Bristi Gerber, another freshman, finished 18th. The VSHS boys team, led by Ricky Jaray ( who finished in 30th place), was 13th in the state in Class 3A.
