Iowa and Iowa State banners hung from the entrance to the Vinton Palace Theatre Saturday afternoon at the beginning of the Iowa-Iowa State football game.

Dozens of people wearing black and gold or red and gold spent the afternoon at the Palace, hoping to see their team win.

Iowa fans went home the happiest, as the Hawkeyes won 35-7. Some Iowa fans took down the flag and carried it around the theater after each touchdown.

Palace Managers Gerald and Marcy Horst dressed for the occasion, wearing the familiar black and white stripes of football officials as they served popcorn and hot refreshments in the concession stand.
