The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Seeman, Primmer and Bierschenk present. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. at the conference room at the Benton County Service Center. Members of the public were provided the zoom access capability to join in during open session and livestream at https://www.youtube.com/bentoncountyiowa. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were approved unanimously. Bierschenk moved/Primmer seconded: To approve the minutes of December 6, 2022. Motion carried.

Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: To acknowledge the resignation from Doreen Anderson from the Pioneer Cemetery Commission and appoint Kimberly Kuch as her replacement. Motion carried.

Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve payroll checks numbered 142658 through 142664, ACH Deposits 51383 through 51530, vendor checks 244611 through 244617 and claims numbered 244618 through 244804 and including the All Temp Refrigeration claim for the boiler project using ARPA funds. Motion carried.

Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve and authorize signature on an updated East Central Iowa Local Workforce Development Area (ECILWDA) Shared Liability Agreement. Motion carried.

George Haefner, Weed Commissioner brought some chemical pricing to discuss with the board.

Bids were received as follows:

Nutrien-$43 a gallon, total $58,050

Van Diest-$46.44 a gallon, total $60,000

Haefner said there was still remaining chemicals from last year, so the Board suggested Haefner order 5 totes in hopes that Nutrien Solutions would honor the quoted price per 10 pallets at the $43.00 per gallon quoted. Ann Jorgensen, member of the Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management Commission (IRVM) was in attendance with some concerns. Haefner plans to meet with the committee in January and do some public outreach.

Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve Resolution #22-112, Abatement of taxes on Parcel #240-92925 in the amount of $6,156.00 pursuant to Iowa Code 445.16. Motion carried.

Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve Resolution #22-113, Wage and Classification Change for Dennis Shea who is now IVD maintainer operator with a base wage of $25.92 an hour effective December 14, 2022. Motion carried.

Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve and authorize signature on the Racom Change Order #4-Van Horne Tower Site, for the Radio Project in the amount of $135,901.25. Motion carried.

Supervisor Seeman reported on the recent Conservation Board Meeting he attended, which led to some budget discussions.

Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: To Adjourn. Motion carried.
