News : Arrest made in theft of diesel fuel

On September 3, 2021, a search warrant was conducted at 5590 22nd Ave., Vinton. The search warrant was a result of a theft investigation involving off-road diesel fuel from a business located in Benton County.

A custom-made trailer with a 1,000 gallon tank had been taken from the business property and portions of the fuel were used by the suspect while the tank remained in a hidden location.

As a result of the investigation, Jimmy James Hilleshiem was charged with theft in the 1st degree and transported to the Benton County jail.

The Benton County Sheriff's office was assisted by the Iowa Department of Transportation Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement.
