Remember the old movie, "You've got mail?" The Vinton post office found out last week that they had a ton of mail. Delivery of more than 2,300 packages arrived at the local post office from Amazon.

The post office is now an Amazon Delivery Unit, which means the post office will be taking on some of the Amazon deliveries. Amazon delivered three truckloads of packages to the building. In 36 hours the postal workers had all of the packages delivered...plus your letters.

For reference, this is nearly three times their usual volume. The town employs only seven carriers in total. The volume of deliveries required not only the carriers but the supervisors to lend a hand to get the deliveries made.

"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds"
