As 2023 begins, Human Trafficking Prevention and Awareness Month is in full swing. During this time, I'm encouraging all Iowans to take a moment to educate themselves on the signs of trafficking so we can help prevent this terrible crime and support survivors as they work through the healing process.

Important Dates to Remember:

January 11 - Wear Blue Day

Wear Blue on January 11 to raise awareness for human trafficking and uplift survivors of this horrible crime. On that day, I'll be wearing blue and I hope you will too, so we can raise further awareness for this horrible crime.

Don't forget to use the #IowaSAH and #NationalHumanTraffickingAwarenessMonth when you're posting to your social media pages. My team will be sharing photos from around the state throughout the day!

January 17 - Human Trafficking Awareness Webinar

My office is partnering with Chains Interrupted to host a webinar discussing how to recognize the signs of human trafficking and how Iowans can help combat this horrible crime. The event is free, but RSVP is required. For more information, click here.

(Editor's note: Chains Interrupted is a program worth watching.)
