Evelyn Buchtela

URBANA: Evelyn Buchtela, 69 of Urbana died Thursday, November 11, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 East Sixth Street) in Vinton with Pastor Connie Wacht officiating. Interment will be in Cox Cemetery near Urbana. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service time at the funeral home on Tuesday. A Memorial Fund has been established.

Evelyn was born March 9, 1941 to Don and Dorothy (Bascom) Boyles in Center Point and graduated from Urbana High School. She was later united in marriage to Don Buchtela and they recently celebrated 51 years of marriage.

Evelyn loved her family dearly and would often attend the grandchildren’s baseball and softball games. She would always get the family together for a wonderful “Sunday Dinner.” Evelyn also enjoyed the many years of babysitting, doing cross-word puzzles and especially enjoyed taking a trip annually to the Amanas to hear Cajun Music.

In addition to her husband Don of Urbana, Evelyn is survived by her children, Duane (Tanya) Buchtela, Ronda (Leon Ohl) Buchtela all of Urbana and Kelly (Mark) Buchtela of Rowley; her nine grandchildren, Brandon and Christopher Railsback, Ryan, Amber and Jonathan Buchtela, Jordan and Madisan Teel, Curtis Buchtela and Jamieson Baker; her one great granddaughter, Jaylyn Railsback; her two sisters, Linda Morris of Center Point and Bernitta (Earl) Fee of Urbana and many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Brian Teel.
