Madonna Marie “Donna” (Cote’) Martin

Madonna Marie "Donna" (Cote') Martin, age 81, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, following a sudden illness.

A memorial visitation will be held for Donna from 2:00 until 4:00 PM, Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton.

Donna was born on June 4, 1941 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph Francis and Margaret (Christiansen) Cote'. She graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in Sioux City, with the class of 1959. On November 10, 1994, she was united in marriage to Donald Joseph Martin in Vinton. Donald passed away in 2008. Donna spent most of her time being a Mom and taking care of anyone in need. She was "Mom" to many and loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, painting and decorating her home. She volunteered at local organizations and donated to several as well.

Survivors include her daughter, Wendy (Dennis) Peters; 4 sons, Steven Polly, Shane Polly, Cameron(Felecia) Polly, Wilbur Peters II; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.

In addition to her parents and husband Donald, Donna was preceded in death by her son, Lance R. Polly.

BL March 30, 2023, 2:51 pm I loved visiting with Donna when I'd run into her at Fareway in the produce aisle. :-) She and Don were clients of mine years ago, and they were both great to work with. I'll miss Donna especially. My sympathy to the family.

JaDB March 30, 2023, 9:42 pm We will miss Mrs. Martin so very much! She was a blessing to our family for many years. Often gifting our children Christmas presents and always passing treats from the Schwan's man our way. We love her dearly. Sending our deepest sympathy to her family.
