Obituaries : Linda J. Greene

Surrounded by her loving family, Linda J. Greene, 75, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab, Vinton. Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Tama. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is caring for Linda and her family.

Linda was born June 6, 1949, in Marshalltown, the daughter of Walter and Cleta (Badger) Hagge. She graduated from Orange High School, Waterloo, and Hawkeye Tech, where she earned her LPN degree. Linda's nursing career was spent in several area nursing homes and Virginia Gay Hospital, Vinton.

Favorite past times for Linda included crocheting, coloring, word search puzzles, baking, gardening, and spending time with friends.

Left to cherish Linda's memory are her daughter, RoxAnne(Brittaney) Greene of Waukegan, IL; son, Steven Greene of Waterloo; five grandchildren: Paige (Dillon) Campbell, Madison (Blake Simpkins) Steele, Alex Hupfeld, Oaklyn Greene, and Savannah Greene; five great-grandchildren: Sophie and Layla Campbell, and Thomas, Remington, and Harlen Simpkins; brother, Donald (Carolyn) Hagge of Winfield; and sister, Janet Meek of Vinton.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Hupfeld; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley (LaVerne) Bartling; and brother-in-law, Joel Meek.

A memorial fund has been established.
