Obituaries : Mark Raymond Jensen

Mark Raymond Jensen, 69, passed away at his home in Atkins on Thursday, April 23, 2026.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Atkins with Rev. Douglas Woltemath officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Monday, April 27, 2026, also at the church in Atkins.  A memorial fund has been established.

Mark was born on May 28, 1956, in Norfolk, Nebraska to Raymond and Willave (Volk) Jensen. He graduated from Marion High School in 1974. Mark was united in marriage to Marcey Lynn Masek on November 29, 1975, at Bethany Lutheran Church.

Mark and his wife owned Jensen Wall Systems Construction for almost 50 years. He was always positive and he loved to talk with customers and friends. He was a trustee at St. Stephens
Lutheran Church. He volunteered as well as founded and coached the soccer program at Benton Community and Central Lutheran School. He loved tinkering with cars and bicycles and was an accomplished handyman. He loved his family and especially his grandkids.

Mark is survived by his wife, Marcey of Atkins; his children, Aubreya (Ken) Matteson of Newhall, Miranda (Jamie) Sonka of Newhall, and Jesse Jensen of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Natalie, Maleah, Baily, Lexie, and Cole, Madison, Kaylee, and Noah; and his mother-in-law, Judie Hotz of Atkins; and his great-grandchildren.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Willave; and his two sisters, Ila Jane Bintz, and Nancy Lea who passed in infancy.
