Vikings defeat Cardinals 24-21

MAQUOKETA - The Vinton-Shellsburg Viking football (2-3, 1-0 Class 3A District 4) took to Goodenow Field in Maquoketa and took on the Maquoketa Cardinals (0-5, 0-1 Class 3A District 4).

Senior quarterback Kaden Kingsbury led the Vikings in passing yards with 45 and one touchdown pass. Curtis Erickson led the Vikings in rushing yards with 117 yards on 15 carries and one touchdown and senior Kale Schulte led the Vikings in receiving yards with 32 on two catches and one touchdown.

The Vikings had 307 total yards and the Cardinals had 253 total yards.
