Sports : Michelle Stepanek resigns after 24 seasons as Vikette volleyball coach

The Vinton-Shellsburg Vikette varsity volleyball program's winningest coach, Michelle Stepanek has resigned after 24 seasons (1994-2007, 2012-21) at the helm of the program. She coached the sophomores in 1992 and 1993.

Stepanek coached the Vikettes to the 1999 State Volleyball Tournament and to the 2005, 2007 and 2021 Regional championship matches. In 2005 the Vikettes lost the Regional championship to the Mount Pleasant Panthers in five sets, then lost in straight sets to the Mount Vernon Mustangs in 2007 and were defeated in straight sets by the West Delaware Hawks in 2021.
