VU Welcomes McClure Financial Services

  Vinton Unlimited would like to welcome Laura McClure and her employees during this busy tax season as the newest member of Vinton Unlimited. McClure Financial Services is located at 218 W. 4th Street in Vinton and we are excited to have her as a new addition to Vinton’s Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development Group. Laura took over for Karen Fountain and is currently occupying the same building Karen was in.

Employee Management Workshops Offered for Agriculture Operation Owners

  A successful agricultural operation needs more than a good owner/manager, quality animals, and appropriate facilities. Knowing the “how, when and why” of employee management also is a vital component that not everyone can claim. The Iowa Beef Center (IBC) and Iowa Pork Industry Center (IPIC) at Iowa State University (ISU) are coordinating and hosting employee management workshop series this winter designed to provide this information.

Alliant Energy expects lower electric bills in Iowa

Kirkwood open for classes

Kirkwood will host an educational trip to the Central American country to learn first-hand about tropical ecology, the environmental impact of industrialization and global trade, and global ethics issues.

  State Treasurer Michael L. Fitzgerald announced today that the deduction amount for those saving for their children's educations through College Savings Iowa has once again been raised. "Iowa taxpayers can now deduct the first $2,865 they contribute to a College Savings Iowa account from their state taxable income," said Fitzgerald.
