  Steve Marlow of East-Central Iowa Rural Electric Cooperative, along with about 30 other representatives from Iowa’s rural electric cooperatives have returned from Washington, D.C., after discussing energy and environmental issues with Iowa’s congressional delegation earlier this week. The purpose of the trip, an annual gathering of electric cooperatives from across the country, is to ensure Iowa elected officials are fully aware of the thoughts and concerns of their constituents who are served by electric cooperatives in Iowa.

  Owner and Founder of Kettlebell Advantage, LLC  Mark Erickson has successfully completed the re-certification training and passed the required tests to teach kettlebell fundamentals as a certified RKC instructor.  Erickson first attended the course in June of 2007 and opened the Kettlebell Advantage training center in Vinton, where he conducts personal training and small group workouts.

  Livestock producers with an interest in beginning or transitioning grazing practices can sharpen their skills by attending Greenhorn Grazing workshops offered by Iowa State University Extension. The Greenhorn Grazing short course consists of five different modules taught over the grazing season.   “Greenhorn Grazing is designed for graziers interested in a more controlled or management-intensive grazing system,” said Denise Schwab, ISU Extension livestock specialist.

  Ashlyn Christianson of Three Rivers Insurance in Vinton was selected as part of an elite group of agency customer service representatives to participate in Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company’s fifth annual Technology Advisory Group (TAG) meeting in April.  As a TAG member, Christianson traveled to Grinnell, Iowa, to join 17 other customer service representatives (CSRs) from throughout the Midwest, providing technology and product recommendations to Grinnell Mutual.
