Arnold Motor Supply takes over G & G; Geissinger and staff to remain

G&G Auto Parts, an independent auto parts store serving the greater Vinton, Iowa, area, has been sold to the Arnold Group of Companies out of Spencer, Iowa, dba Arnold Motor Supply Automotive Parts Stores. “We are very excited to have the great team that Scott Geissinger built be part of our team of automotive experts,” said Dennis Spooner, managing partner of the Arnold Group of Companies.

Nita Obermueller to retire after 45 years with US Bank

After 45 years, in the banking business, Nita Obermueller will be retiring from her position as Platform Banker at US Bank, on Friday, July 29. There will be an open house on the 29th. The public is welcome to stop in and wish Nita a happy retirement.

From 'ick' to making business history: Iowa Cricket Farmer

The cricket industry in Benton County has never been better – and soon insects grown in Keystone may find their way to eating establishments in Iowa and beyond. In the past few weeks, TV stations have featured the local insects and the trio who raises them; Governor Terry Branstad heard about the business during his Benton County breakfast meeting last week; representatives from the Iowa State Extension office visited the cricket farm on Tuesday, and asked many questions.

Walton graduates from PDP Program

Steve Cook-Regional Sales Manager, Tressa Walton, Mike Summers, and Bridget Johnson On Thursday, June 23 Tressa Walton was one of 23 to graduate from the Producer Development Program ran by Polestar and facilitated at West Bend.  Walton was one of the selected participants from across the Midwest to participate in the program beginning in February.   Tressa is employed at Wilson-Hite Insurance and is licensed to sell health, life, personal & commercial lines.

Summer Changes at Vinton Unlimited

To kick off the summer, we welcomed Nick Hyland into the office as our Intern. I am excited to have Nick in the office as he will offer a fresh, young, new perspective on events and has already offered some great ideas. Success in Prevention for Bars and Restaurants in Benton County

Over the last 2 years the Area Substance Abuse Council and the Above the Influence Coalition have been able to partner with bar owners, managers, and servers in Benton County on issues of responsible alcohol service. ASAC prevention staff has been meeting with the owners and managers of area bars and restaurants to discuss what responsible alcohol service is, and how to best achieve it for their business.
