Elise Healzer will soon mark her one-year anniversary at her Lifeline mental health therapy office in Vinton. In September of 2013, she moved into the former Betterton Chirpractic Building on A Avenue. Elise offers individual, couples and children's therapy, serving all ages. She shares the following information about herself and the services she offers to area families: I was born and raised in rural Benton County. Vinton was the "big town" we came to for groceries and other things :) After college I lived away for a while for and worked in the non-profit field for about 5 years. When I finished graduate school I really felt a strong desire to work in the area because it is an underserved population. There are limited options for people seeking mental health services and I wanted to address that need. I graduated in 2012 with a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. In September 2013 with the help of Life-Line Resources I was able to open an office here in Vinton. The response has been overwhelming! I originally started working just two days a week offering appointments from 9am through 7pm. Now I am here Monday through Thursday. We also have a substance abuse person who provides evaluations and treatment here 1-2 days a week. We joined Vinton Unlimited earlier this year and hope to have an after hours event/open house this fall to celebrate our one year anniversary. We have a play therapy room for kids and families as well as and adult room which has big comfy chairs, soft lighting etc. I am trained in family systems therapy, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, neuro-emotional technique, play therapy/theraplay etc. I see kids as young as 3 through adults. Families, individuals and couples.
