'Sometimes a Rainbow' storying coming alive for cast as rehearsal continues

The cast for “Sometimes a Rainbow” continues to rehearse their lines and music in preparation for this musical comedy.  As they rehearse at the Palace the show comes alive even more.  “Mack the Knife” (Rick Primmer) has been sharpening his carving knife and is busy carving animals while Danika (Sherry Stout) is selling hot dogs and other doodads from her hot dog stand.

In Depth: Son of God

The Vinton Palace brings you “Son of God” Friday, April 11 through Thursday, April 17 at 7 pm, and Monday, April 14 at 2 pm. We’ve had several requests for this film, which chronicles the life of Christ. Portuguese actor Diogo Morgado portrays the role of Jesus, from his humble birth through his teachings, crucifixion and ultimate resurrection.

Cooling Dancers to Attend Regional Competition

117 Dancers from the Cooling Dance Center of Vinton will compete April 11-12 for the Midwest Starz Regional Dance Competition at the Five Sullivan Bros. Center in Waterloo. The students have been hard at work learning dance choreography, stage presentation, and the teamwork that holds it all together. Along the way they have developed confidence and a competitive spirit, and will showcase all of their learning at the regional dance event.

'Sometimes a Rainbow' cast moves rehearsal to Palace stage

Sunday was the first rehearsal at the Palace for ACT 1's "Sometimes a Rainbow". It was evident cast members had been working very hard to memorize their lines. Many laughs happened as the show was heard by cast members who had not had the opportunity to see the entire show. You will want to add your laughs to those of the cast so get your tickets now.

Rehearsals for ACT 1’s production of “Sometimes a Rainbow” are in full swing. This ACT 1 show is a musical comedy featuring the lives of tourists and street people and their interactions in the Mall area of 15th Street and Constitution Avenue in Washington, DC. Stories of varied life circumstances are shared through song and dialog by various street characters.

'Unplugged:' VSMS play about living without cell phones, Internet opens tonight

Charlie Cooling plays the teacher who boasts that online courses allow him to teach without pants. Do you think teenagers could live without technology for 30 days? This is the question almost 50  Vinton-Shellsburg Middle School Students hope to answer this month with their fun, on-stage performance of  "Unplugged" written by Laurie Bryant, directed by Crystal Coder. The Vinton-Shellsburg Middle School Plays are sponsored in part by ACT I of Benton County.
