In Depth - '42'

“42" tells the story of two men who broke the color barrier in 1947.  Jackie Robinson (Chadwick Boseman) and Brooklyn Dodgers GM Branch Rickey (Harrison Ford) took a stand against prejudice, changing the world and the game of baseball. With players and fans alike shouting racist remarks with every play, the talented Robinson demonstrated tremendous courage and restraint by not responding to the taunts.

Palace Theatre thanked for support of Honor Flight

The Palace Theater, hosted a showing of "Honor Flight-One Last Mission" this past Saturday. For their support of EIHF and contributions, Eastern Iowa Honor Flights presented the Horsts with a certificate of appreciation. On the right, EIHF Finance Officer, Roger Uthoff, presents Gerald & Marcy Horst with a certificate. And on a side note, from someone not from our area, "This is a really neat theater.

In Depth: 'Oblivion' brings Cruise and Freeman to Palace

  "Oblivion" takes place in the future, the year 2077, 60 years after an alien invasion destroyed the Earth. Tom Cruise stars as Jack Harper, one of the few people remaining on the planet. The aliens take over the Palace Friday, May 17 through Thursday, May 23 at 7 pm, and Monday, May 20 at 2 pm. This sci-fi action thriller runs just over two hours and is rated PG-13 for violence, strong language, sexuality, and nudity.

ACT 1's 'Odd Couple - Female Version' comes to Palace stage this weekend

Richard Roeper calls “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone” a Will Ferrell sports comedy without Will Ferrell and without the sports.  Roeper compared "Wonderstone” to “Ricky Bobby.” Reviews from the late Roger Ebert’s old partner in critique are now appearing on Ebert’s website.  He especially enjoyed the return of Jim Carrey, reaching deep into the trick bag that turned him into a star some 20 years ago.
