Name: Deanna Golab

Hometown: Middletown, Conn.

Deanna is serving as a member of the NCCC FEMA Corps team Hickory 3 at the Vinton Campus. She chose to participate in NCCC FEMA Corps because she loves helping people and experiencing new things.

Deanna graduated from Portland High School in 2007 and the University of Rhode Island in May 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a minor in communications. After her service term ends she hopes to join the Peace Corps and then attend graduate school for international business.

During college Deanna spent a semester studying abroad in Spain. She says that those five months changed her life in so many ways and opened her eyes to the fact that there are so many interesting people in this world. She feels that this experience has shaped her into an understanding, open minded person, which she hopes that her service in NCCC FEMA Corps will enhance.
