Et cetera : Four Elected to Benton County Extension Council

Four Benton County residents were elected to the Benton County Extension Council in the Nov. 6 general election. They are Paul Bierschenk, 2678 68th St. Newhall, Jim Bruce, 5415 33rd Ave. Dr. Center Point, Nancy Jensen, 1544 75th St. Luzerne and Deb Miller 1727 53rd St., Mount Auburn.

The current member of the council who was re-elected to a four-year term is Nancy Jensen.

New members who will join the council in January are Paul Bierschenk, Jim Bruce and Deb Miller.

The new members will replace Scott Hepker, Judi Hertle and Ben Olson.

Carryover council members whose terms expire at the end of 2014 are Marilyn Gerhold,7298 31st Ave., Atkins, Shannon Feuerbach, 1443 69th St., Keystone, Allison Hicks, 1922 62nd St. Dr., Garrison, Kathy Janss, 411 1st Ave., Keystone and Matthew Marovec, 2401 66th St. Vinton

Council members elected in November will begin their terms in January and the council will meet in early January to elect officers.

The Extension Council is the county governing body of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. Council members hire county staff, manage the county extension budget, and help determine programming, said Judi Hertle, Extension Council Chairperson. The county extension office is located at 501 1st Ave., Vinton
