Et cetera : AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps Class 19 Member Spotlight: Jillian Moore

Name: Jillian Moore

Hometown: Denver, Colo.

Jillian is serving as a member of the NCCC FEMA Corps team Hickory 1 at the Vinton Campus. She chose to participate in NCCC FEMA Corps because she was looking for opportunities to change the world and do meaningful work.

Jillian graduated from Air Force Academy High School in 2006 and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. After her service term ends she hopes to continue serving in other capacities and travel the world.

Prior to joining NCCC FEMA Corps Jillian did some community organizing and volunteered with the Denver Urban Gardens where she helped educate the public about nutrition and gardening. She says that life doesn’t seem worth living unless it is in service to another and she is excited to see where her journey with AmeriCorps takes her.
