9/11 memorial service to take place at the Courthouse 7 p.m. Sunday

Vinton area veterans will lead a 9/11 ceremony at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Benton County courthouse in Vinton. They will line up at the  new jail and march with the firemen pulling the old pumper to the front of the courthouse.

Iowa DNR to host hunter education at Izaak Walton

The Iowa Dept. of Natural Resources will be hosting a hunter education course at the Izaak Walton League north of Vinton.  The course will be two days beginning on Saturday September 17th and ending on Sunday September 18th.
