REMINDER: Homestead and Military Tax Credits

On May 4, 2023, Governor Reynolds signed House File 718, establishing a homestead tax exemption for claimants 65 years of age or older. In addition to the homestead tax credit, eligible claimants who own the home they live in and are 65 years of age or older on or before January 1 of the assessment year are now eligible for a homestead tax exemption.

State Auditor Rob Sand to visit Vinton May 23

State Auditor Rob Sand will continue his fifth “100 Town Hall” tour with public town hall appearances Tuesday, May 23rd, and Wednesday, May 24th, 2023. As part of his promise to meet Iowans where they are and operate with the transparency and accountability they deserve, Sand will deliver remarks and take questions on the work of the State Auditor’s office and the condition of the state’s finances and governance.
