Reynolds Issues Disaster Proclamation for Five Counties including Benton
Today, Gov. Kim Reynolds issued a disaster proclamation for Benton, Iowa, Jasper, Muscatine, and Poweshiek counties in response to severe weather that occurred on May 7. The governor's proclamation activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program and the Disaster Case Management Program for those counties. The Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program provides grants of up to $5,000 for households with incomes up to 200 percent of the federal poverty level.
Hello District 84 from the State Capitol
The 2023 Iowa State Legislative session adjourned sine die on Thursday, May 4th at about 12:30 pm. Sine die is Latin which basically means a specific day to assemble has not been set (for this year).There are dozens of bills that were passed by both chambers and already signed by Governor Kim Reynolds. The 90th General Assembly is officially adjourned! Thursday, May 4th, was our final day. I
ended our five months in Des Moines with a 99% voting rate and one day (excused) absence. You
can count on seeing me all over Benton and Linn counties over the next eight months! Thank you all
