Shellsburg Garbage Hauler Changes

Garbage Service Change NoticeThe City of Shellsburg will be changing garbage haulers effective July 1,2021 from J&R Sanitation to Johnson Co. Refuse.J&R will be picking up and removing the YARD WASTE CARTS on June 18 (today).J&R will be picking up and removing the GARBAGE AND RECYCLING CARTS on June 25.Johnson County Refuse will start dropping off the new YARD WASTE CARTS on June 19.

Fuel Up for Summer Meal Program

The Summer meal program as part of the Vinton-Shellsburg Community School District meal program will again be offering summer meals to the public. Any child 18 and younger can receive a meal at either breakfast or lunchtime. Participants need not be part of the VSCSD or residents of Vinton, ANY children or adults are welcome to the meal site. Children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult or responsible teenager.
