But the office of Soil & Water Conservation District Commissioner is an office you may not know a lot about. If you’ve never heard of Soil & Water Conservation District Commissioners, it’s not because they are rare.

The Benton County Republicans will hold their monthly meeting Tuesday, August 9th, 7 p.m., at the Van Horne Community Center.  The community center is located at 500 1st Ave, Van Horne.  The agenda will include finalizing the details of our upcoming fundraiser, setting a date for organizing our Vinton office space, and working on our strategy for the upcoming election.

The Benton County Democrats met on Tuesday July 19th in Belle Plaine at the area museum.  We want to thank everyone that helped at the Benton County fair and those that registered for the prizes.  The winner of the $50.00 was Dorothy Miller of Vinton and the flag was won by Barb Colucci also of Vinton.  The next regular meeting will be at La Reyna Mexican Restaurant in Vinton on August 16th.
