Rep. Dawn Pettengill (R-Mt. Auburn) released details regarding the annual Iowa Sales Tax Holiday. This year beginning at 12:01am, August 2, 2013 through midnight August 3, 2013, no sales tax will be collected on clothing or footwear having a selling price of less than $100.00 per item.
All businesses open on August 2nd and 3rd are required to participate, though the holiday does not extend to Sunday.
“The tax free weekend serves as a good reminder that tax dollars belong to Iowans, not the government,” said Pettengill.
