The National VFW Auxilary President Jean Hamil came to tour Iowa on September 15 and 16. As the National VFW President, she will visit al 50 states. On Wednesday the 15th, she came to visit in Vinton at the VFW Post 8884 for supper.

The Vinton Lutheran Home Assisted Living residents donated a tree to Vinton Parks and Recreation to be placed at Kiwanis Park. The residents wrote on leaves saying what they love about living in our community or shared a childhood memory.

Burmeister completes her Ride as Benton County Transportation Director

Dana Burmeister joined the crew of the Benton County Transportation Department a little over 20 years ago. She began as a part-time driver and was later a dispatcher/scheduler and in 2015 she became the Director.
