On Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at approximately 8:30 a.m., several area law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant at 509 W. 14th Street in Vinton related to an ongoing joint investigation.This is still an active investigation and no arrests were made at that time.

The 2nd Precinct special election is being held today at the Vinton Skate Center. Polls opened at 7:00 a.m. and remain open until 8:00 p.m.As of 11:00 a.m. only 20 of the eligible 738 voters have voted in the 2nd Precinct.Vinton Today asked for a response from all of the candidates to questions that had been submitted by residents. A forum was offered, but two declined the invitation.
