This may have been the first year in the last 9 years that we had to delay play because of lightning but we didn't let that dampen our spirits! It was still a great tournament! Pettengill Encourages Iowans to Save During Sales Tax Holiday Weekend

Today Rep. Dawn Pettengill (R-Mount Auburn) released information regarding the annual Iowa Sales Tax Holiday, which runs August 3-4.  During this time, no sales tax will be collected on select clothing or footwear with a selling price of less than $100 per item.

Despite the threat of stormy weather, the 34th Annual Vinton Cruise saw 261 vehicles officially enter the annual cruise on Saturday. Hundreds of area residents filled the courthouse square area to get an up-close look at the vehicles, and then lined the streets as the cruise started at 7 p.
