FFA BREEDING SWINE CAPTURE TOP HONORS IN IOWA STATE FAIR SHOW

Youth from across the state competed in the FFA Breeding Swine Show on Thursday at the 2018 Iowa State Fair. Tommy Pretz of Columbus Junction captured the Supreme Champion Commercial Gilt title while Lexie Berry of Lake View claimed the Supreme Reserve Champion Commercial Gilt title.

It was seven months ago this week that Heidi Kersten received the disturbing call that her dog had been hit by a car, and then returned home to find that a hit-and-run driver had lost control and the vehicle damaged her fence and one of the electrical boxes.

When the Pink Heals fire truck came to Vinton from Sauk Valley, Illinois, last year, Diana Bramow was the very first Vinton person to sign it. Dennis Bramow helped organize the October 2017 visit in honor of Diana, who is a cancer survivor.
