Youth from across the state competed in the FFA Breeding Swine Show on Thursday at the 2018 Iowa State Fair. Tommy Pretz of Columbus Junction captured the Supreme Champion Commercial Gilt title while Lexie Berry of Lake View claimed the Supreme Reserve Champion Commercial Gilt title.

Forty-three FFA members exhibited 131 birds in the FFA Poultry Show judged Thursday at the 2018 Iowa State Fair. Aric Luzum of Decorah showed the Grand Champion Market Broiler.

It was seven months ago this week that Heidi Kersten received the disturbing call that her dog had been hit by a car, and then returned home to find that a hit-and-run driver had lost control and the vehicle damaged her fence and one of the electrical boxes.
