Cedar Valley Humane Society secures legal custody of all Galkowski animals

The Cedar Valley Humane Society is pleased to announce that it has reached a voluntary legal settlement and release agreement with Benton County, the City of Vinton, and Barbara & Marshall Galkowski in the matter of the Petition for Disposition of Threatened Animals filed by Benton County on January 22, 2018.

Michael & Dowd owners hope to have temporary business space next week; hope to rebuild at current site

Lisa Vogt speaks to firefighters Friday, shortly before the demolition of the Michael & Dowd building. Lisa Vogt says she and the rest of the Micheal & Dowd family and employees are hoping that by next Friday, the business will have a building space to rent in Vinton, and begin preparing to resume its sales of La-Z-Boy furniture, appliance and floor coverings.
