Leaplings will be Celebrating their Quadrennial Birthdays Today!

Michelle Erickson officially turned 11 this year! For some of us, we WISH we didn't have a birthday every year which reminds us of how old we are. But for those having a Leap Year Birthday is a big deal to get to celebrate ON your birthday.She was only four years old when she graduated from Washington High School in 1998. She also learned to drive and wanted a car for her birthday. On her seventh birthday, she celebrated with a Spongebob Squarepants theme.

Benton Community School District to hold Special Election

The Benton Community School District will be holding its second special election vote on Tuesday to improve the Benton Community School District. The vote will be to decide if voters want to pass a Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL). Last year a vote to pass a $48 million dollar bond measure failed in the district.The district hopes that changing the goal of the measure will bring different results for the school district.

Celebrating Jennifer Melvin, PA-C

 Jennifer Melvin, PA-C Jennifer provides care for our community in the VGH Emergency Department. Recently Jennifer was honored by the University of Nebraska Medical Center as the UNMC PA Class of 2023 New Preceptor of the Year (unanimously selected)! The student who nominated Jennifer stated "She was the BEST preceptor by far" and "she was a true inspiration." Jennifer received her Physician’s Assistant degree from the UNMC PA Program in Omaha, NE.
