I thought seeing all of the kids try new things was really cool to see,” Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Member Dallas Fairbanks said. He was one of the group leaders responsible for taking kids around to all of the different stations at the fairgrounds to learn about the different aspects of safety.

Veterans Park Rededication

On Friday, after months of hard work to prepare Veteran's Park to reopen, it was ready for its dedication. Area veterans gathered for the ceremony along with area residents and city officials. The bricks that had formerly been in the ground representing area veterans were removed as they had begun to deteriorate over time, and a new idea formed.

Good Neighbors continue to make Vinton a wonderful place

Greg and Patricia Wardenburg Vinton Unlimited and the Palace Theatre recognize Greg and Patricia Wardenburg, Ryan Tresnak, Greg Walston, the Old School Produce Partners Board, and their volunteers as “Good Neighbors”.Vinton Unlimited and the Palace Theatre established the Vinton Good Neighbor Award in an effort to recognize those whose good deeds may go unnoticed, to encourage people to look for the positive things in our community, and hopefully, prompt fellow Vintonians to participate and become “Good Neighbors” themselves.
