Iowa Select Farms supports Iowa veterans and military families by helping communities host Veterans Day celebrations.American Legion Post #57, Vinton,  AMVETS Post #218, Vinton,  AMVETS, Keystone and  American Legion Post #166, Shellsburg were among  160 Iowa veteran-based organizations who are preparing to host Veterans Day celebrations with the support of Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation.

This year instead of our usual appreciation breakfast/dinner, the local Veterans Affairs office will be offering Christmas Baskets. These baskets or bags will have everything in them that a veteran will need to have a Christmas dinner with their family (roughly a family of 6).

The Friends of the Vinton Public Library is raising funds to purchase new mobile shelving for our children's library! The shelving will give space for more books and will allow us to make room for even more kids during our programs! Stop into our Reading Room and check out our poster tracking the progress of the fundraiser.
