The VFD is offering this 1984 Jeep for sale via sealed bids.

The Vinton Fire Department is selling its 32-year-old Jeep.

Here is more information about the vehicle from the VFD:

There have been many things done to this unit. Re-manufactured engine, new wiring, new wheels and tires, new aluminum body, new radiator, new ignition, new carburetor, new clutch and pressure plate, new brakes, new shocks, new exhaust, new fuel tank, and numerous other things replaced.
There is a mini grass fire pump unit on the back purchased from Heiman Fire Equipment. It holds 100 gallons of water and has a Scotty Foam system on it. The pump runs and pumps water great.
All of the work was done in 2005-2006. There is less than 3000 miles on the Jeep since the project was completed.
Jeep is available with or without skid unit. Business radio, gas can, hoses and nozzles, will be retained by the fire dept.
Jeep is available for viewing anytime.
We are accepting sealed bids until March 25th 2016.
We retain the right to reject any or all bids.
