News : McDonald's celebrates renovation with favorite characters

This coupon will help VS schools at McDonald's on Tuesday.

A young girl walked into McDonald's with her family on Saturday, and after seeing one of the famous restaurant characters, decided to order Chicken McNuggets -- she was convinced that if she ordered a hamburger, the Hamburglar would steal it. Many families visited the store to help celebrate the renovation, and had their photos taken with Birdie or The Hamburglar. VSHS cheerleaders offered face painting, and there were balloons and activities for children and adults.

On Tuesday, Ronald McDonald will visit the restaurant during a fund-raising event for Vinton-Shellsburg Schools. See a coupon for that event in the accompanying photo.
