News : Derailment causes detour, but no damage in Vinton

A train derailment caused some minor detours in Vinton Friday evening.

Vinton drivers headed to the VS basketball game and Band Booster Soup Supper may have experienced an extra detour, due to a train derailment. Between C Avenue and 8th Avenue, the train left the tracks in several places, and stopped. Drivers could get through on C and 8th, although the flashing crossarms were down. Many made the detour to the 4th Ave. underpass.
