A fire early Monday morning around 1:00 a.m. found the Vinton Fire Department responding to a structure fire with 19 members responding. With the last fireman leaving around 4:30 a.m. the men returned home.
The fire took out a building at the Darrell McNeal residence located at 102 G Ave. in the Southwest section of Vinton.
The fire was limited to the outside building and melted the siding on the house, but the Vinton Fire Department was able to spare the house.
Monday evening the debris was still smoldering and smoking.
