One of the things that Tilford Elementary students look forward to in their final days as students their is the annual Fourth Grade State Fair event. The students study the diffences in the 50 states, and each does a project based on what he or she has learned about a specific state.
The students sent letters to leaders and others in those states, asking for information. From that information, they chose a specific place or feature to include in their project. The mountains of Colorado, the volcanoes of Hawaii, the space and rocket museum in Alabama were among the places included in the presentations.
The project culminated on Friday with a miniature State Fair. Students enjoyed a variety of activities in the gym, as well as pony cart rides and a petting zoo outside.
