I was born and raised on a family farm west of Norway. I attended Norway schools and graduated in 1976. I worked for United Airlines for 27 years, that is where I met my wife. Unfortunately, after 911, the airline industry suffered greatly and we both lost our full time jobs on the same day. I started a Commercial Janitorial business and ran it for 12 years, selling it in 2014. My wife is a Certified Pharmacy Tech. Prior to selling the Janitorial business, I took courses that helped me pass my Independent Insurance Exam. I am currently an Independent Insurance Broker selling for 15 different companies. We have 3 children. Two daughters and a son, we also have two grandchildren. I have been on committees or board most of my adult life. I served on the St. Michael's Parish Council for 12 years, 4 as chair. I was one of the founding members of the Prairie Creek Chapter of Pheasants Forever in Benton County and served as president for 35 years. I currently sit on the State Board of Directors for Pheasants Forever. I am in my final year of 10 on that board. I was on the Norway City Council for 3 years and Mayor of Norway for 4 years. I have always believed that if you want to criticize or critique the job someone is doing, you need to spend time doing that job. I have always been proud of my rural roots. I believe that the citizens Benton County are some of the best friends and neighbors that anyone could hope to live around. I would like to make sure that we provide the citizens the tools and infrastructure to enable them to continue living the dream. One of the things that I noticed while either watching Supervisor meetings on youtube, or in person is that there seems to be little discussion of issues. While visiting with a few residents, the one thing they all mentioned is that if they are attending a meeting, they come away feeling that they missed something. There are three things that I insist on when I am on a committee or board. Honesty, Integrity, and Consistency. Everything must be done above the table. If it can't be, then in my opinion, its off the table. If everything is done in the open, there will be fewer questions and the task at hand will proceed at a much quicker pace.Thank you,Bruce---
