News : Homecoming royalty to be crowned Thursday evening

The Vinton-Shellsburg Homecoming Parade takes place Thursday evening. Line-up on B Avenue between 4th Street and 7th Street begins at 5:30; the parade begins at 6. The route leads through downtown Vinton on 4th Street then back to the high school along Second Avenue. The Powder Puff game and pep rally take place at the football field at approximately 7 p.m. The Queen and King will be crowned at the pep rally Thursday.

King finalists are: Jake Stodola, Charlie Betterton, Alex Springer, John Levis and Nolan Edwards. Queen finalists include Annie Meyer, Elle Osborne, Kelly Wagner, Maddie Springer and Emma Horst.

Friday's Homecoming game activities include the introduction of the new members of the Viking/Vikette Hall of Fame.

The sophomore game begins at 5:15, with the varsity game beginning at around 7:30.
