Generations of Vinton-Shellsburg High School students have continued the tradition of painting concrete. Before the move to the new building, students painted the streets near the old Washington High School building. Now, with a large parking area all their own, the students paint it each Wednesday evening.

Using a variety of brushes and cans of spray paint, the students painted the parking lot -- and each other -- with a variety of designs, jersey numbers and messages.

The Homecoming week continues tonight with the Homecoming Parade, followed by the pep rally, where the King and Queen will be crowned. The junior and senior girls will then play the Powder Puff football game.
