The Benton County Sheriff Randall Forsyth wants to remind motorist to be aware of slow moving vehicles as farmers work to harvest the crops. This time of year there are a lot of farm vehicles moving on Benton County Roads. Motorists need to slow when encountering these vehicles and use caution when passing any farm vehicle.

Traditionally with the harvest the deer are moving increasing the chances of motorist encountering deer on the road. Motorist should use their bright headlights when possible and be aware that when you see a deer there is probably another deer nearby.

Every fall there are accidents involving farm machinery with motorist running into the back of the slow moving vehicles or attempting to pass as the farm vehicles turn left into a field drive. We seek to reduce the number of accidents and injuries through public awareness.
