Dr. Kenneth N. Andersen

Dr. Kenneth N. Andersen, 90, of Center Point, Iowa, died Friday, May 22, 2015, at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids from heart complications. Per Dr. Andersen’s wishes, cremation will take place. Memorial services are planned for June, and the place, date, and time will be published in the paper when that time approaches. Burial: Center Point Cemetery, Center Point, Iowa.

     BRANDON:  Don E. Bistline, 88 died Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha.  Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 East Sixth Street in Vinton.  Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton with military rites conducted by the Geo.

Davis, age 87, died Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab in Vinton.      Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Judith Bunyi officiating.  Military Rites will be accorded at the Church following the service.

Beverly Vee (Robbins) Bergen

Beverly Vee (Robbins) Bergen      SHELLSBURG:  Beverly Vee (Robbins) Bergen, 77 died Saturday, May 23, 2015 following complications from a stroke.  Visitation will be from 3 to 6 PM on Wednesday at Phillips Family Center, 605 Second Avenue in Vinton and will conclude with a brief service at 6 PM.  Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Shellsburg.

Thomas Halley

Thomas Halley   Thomas Arthur Halley, 71, passed peacefully in Waterloo, IA on May 14, 2015 from surgery complications following a debilitating stroke two years ago. He was cremated after the Iowa Donor Network received many of his tissues and his eyes. A memorial service will be held in Greenville, Ohio at a later date.   Tom was born April 8, 1944 in Greenville, Ohio to parents Mary Catherine Westerman and Arthur G.

Keystone—Jan Niebes, 66, died peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown with Pastor David Rempfer officiating.  Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.  Inurnment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown.

Vinton--Lorraine Willa Ann (Kaestner) Landgrebe, 91, of Franklin, WI, formerly of Vinton, Iowa, died Thursday, May 7, 2015, at her home. Funeral services for Lorraine will be at 11:00 am Monday, May 18th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton with Rev. Stephen Preus officiating.  Visitation will be two hours before the 11:00 am service at the church.

VINTON:      Josephine Geiger, 95, died Thursday, May 7, 2015 at her residence following an extended illness.      Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St. in Vinton with Chaplain Joseph T. Kane officiating.  Interment will be held at the Garrison Cemetery in Garrison.

Gary L. Moubry VINTON – Gary L. Moubry, 79, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at the Vinton Lutheran Home due to complications of Alzheimer’s and pulmonary fibrosis. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2015, at First Christian Church in Vinton with Rev. Connie Wacht officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton.

Jerry D. Easter, 75, of Waterloo, and formerly of Vinton, died Saturday, May 2, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home from complications of of COPD. Services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ascension Lutheran Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the church, Harmony Foundation, Christian Crusaders and Cedar Valley Hospice.
