KEYSTONE:  Glennis D. Nissen, 84, died Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha following a brief illness. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone with Rev. B. Andrew Wright officiating. Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery.

Charles Arthur Malmgren

Charles Arthur Malmgren Charles Arthur Malmgren, 68, of Blairstown passed away suddenly Monday, November 9, 2015. A Prayer Service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the Blairstown Legion Hall, 102 Benton Street NE, Blairstown, Iowa.  Immediately following the prayer service a memorial visitation will be held until 6 PM where the family will receive friends.

Thomas Junior Lockhart

Thomas Junior Lockhart, age 90, of Adel, Iowa boarded his final flight to heaven to be with his loved ones on November 11, 2015 at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake, Iowa. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wall Lake. The celebrant will be Fr. Lawrence McCarty, assisted by Deacon Butch Stone.

Merlin E. Lutz

Merlin E. Lutz VINTON – Merlin Edward “Bud” Lutz, 95, died Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at his residence in rural Vinton following a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Benton County. Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 16, 2015, at Blessed Hope Church in Vinton followed by a luncheon in the church fellowship hall.

Ned E. Douglas

VINTON:   Ned E. Douglas, 66, died suddenly Friday, November 6, 2015. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton with Pastor Kurt Brubaker officiating.  Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton with graveside military rites.

Douglas Cummings

Vinton native Douglas Cummings, a member of the Washington High School Class of 1975, passed away in Georgia on Monday, Nov. 2. Local arrangements are pending.

     Melvin Neal, 82, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Monday, November 2, 2015, at Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha. Family will greet friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Graveside service 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2015, at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, with military rites.

Tom Nolan

Tom Nolan Van Horne, IA– Sunrise: February 22, 1939.  Sunset: October 3, 2015.  Tom was born in Vinton, the son of Raymond and Florence (Rice) Nolan.  He graduated from Van Horne High School in 1957 and from the University of Iowa, College of Business Administration, in 1961.  That same year he moved to St. Louis where he served as credit manager of the St.

VAN HORNE:      Jim Nolan, 81, died Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Keystone Nursing Care Center in Keystone following an extended illness.      A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Van Horne with Father Craig Steimel as Celebrant.
